A LITTLE ABOUT ME

James is the Founder and Managing Partner of Fortis Mortgage Advisors. Beginning his career in New York City, he draws on his 20+year banking, real estate, and finance career to offer a unique perspective on creative problem solving and financing solutions.

After College James moved to NYC to pursue a career in finance. After working 10 years in real estate finance and development, private banking, and with a multi-billion dollar mortgage REIT, James left New York in 2011 and joined Morgan Stanley’s Seattle office where he focused primarily on private banking solutions for HNW and Ultra affluent PNW families. In 2012 he helped launch Glacier Peak Capital, a registered investment advisor managing two private investment partnerships, where he is currently the Chief Operating Officer. James continues to be an active member of the Glacier Peak and Fortis investment committee as well as a partner of the Fortis Financial Group a Registered Investment Advisor managing the wealth of 150+ PNW families. He is a graduate of Middlebury College (Middlebury, VT) with a B.A. in political science.

Currently, James serves on the Seattle Prep Alumni Board and the Mercer Island Center for the Arts Board. James’ free time is spent coaching his sons’ youth sports teams, playing golf, and skiing. James, his wife Jessica, and their 3 sons reside on Mercer Island.
